Fantastic lodges, attention to detail and great facilities
Stayed in a 2-bed lodge for a few nights with my two dogs. Lovely lodges in a nice location. Great to have the field to walk the dogs in. The lodges are just at the side of the main A68 road but traffic noise isn’t a problem. The lodges are clean and well furnished.
Peace and friendliness
A week here in one of the two bedroomed lodges has been awesome
Peaceful relaxing Owners are very friendly surroundings are great Wonderful access to lots of places perfect for exploring the Borders.
Easy to get to Tweedbank to get the train into Edinburgh on one hand and an hours drive to the Kielder Forest. Will be back.
Quiet haven of relaxation!
Have not long returned from a 4 night stay in the 2 bedroomed lodge at the Spinney, and we were both very loathed to leave. For the price of a B&B we had this beautiful lodge to stay in, there being nothing which the owners had left out in the furnishing of this elegant accommodation. We did appreciate the milk in the fridge on our arrival, also the Lindt chocolates. Sandra, the owner, gave us a warm welcome and both she and her husband were often around the beautiful gardens of their own home – a very friendly ambiance. We look forward to returning again!
Wonderful Little Borders Hideaway
I really can’t speak highly enough about the lodges at The Spinney. They are excellent in every way. I stayed in one of the one-bed lodges and it was simply perfect. Extremely comfortable, lovely and cozy, and with absolutely everything you could possibly need for a quiet few days away. The grounds are immaculately kept and the adjacent field for walking the dog is a great asset too. Special mention must be made for the gloriously comfy king-size bed and for the lovely friendly welcome from the owners who are always on hand if you should need anything at all. Just wonderful 🙂
Fantastic lodges, great location and friendly owners!
We will definitely be returning to The Spinney lodges and recommending to friends/family. We arrived in the evening on Friday and were greeted by Sandra who was extremely welcoming and very helpful in getting us into the lodge and highlighted that both her and her husband were available anytime if we needed any help finding anything. The accommodation is dog friendly which was perfect for us and there’s plenty of space for exercise for dogs too! The lodges themselves are very cosy and homely, definitely well equipped and just fantastic! Only suggestion would be washing facilities, not so much for ourselves as we only stayed for 3 nights however next time we would like to stay for longer and it would be handy to be able to wash clothes when there. Overall just the break we needed 🙂
We have just spent a delightful relaxing week staying in one of the lodges at The Spinney in Jedburgh. Set in a lovely location with just three lodges the lodges there was time to unwind and relax. The lodges are excellent with everything you might need for a week away to self cater – you only need to take food, everything else provided. Comfortable beds with lovely bed linen, a dishwasher, full size cooker, microwave and all the kitchen utensils and crockery you might need, with flat screen TV, DVD player, a pile of books and comfy sofa there was time and everything we needed to chill out. Absolutely recommend this place for a break away in the Scottish Boarders.
Beautiful and relaxing retreat
Had a great time cycling and walking and the Spinney Lodge was the perfect place to come back and unwind. Cabins are great and well equipped and such a lovely location. The lodges are quite close to the A68 but traffic is very low and noise was not a problem. Theres also an adjacent field for dog walking.
We stayed for 4 nights, fab stay lovely clean well equip 2 bed roomed lodge. The field for dog walking was so useful as it was a very wet week. Thank you for a great stay we will be back, great hosts with lots of local recomendations.
excellent, self catering lodges
We stayed in one of the one bedroom cabins for three notes over the weekend, the hosts were very welcoming and even put the heating on ready for our arrival and put a pint of milk in the fridge for us.the cabins are very clean and comfortable and have everything you need for a short break.the surroundings are excellent with a two acre field to walk the dogs in ,the garden leading up to the cabins is emaculately kept and is a credit to the owners. All in all the spinney is an excellent place to stay to visit the excellent country side or just relax on the decking.we will definitely be back in the near future and would strongly recommend it to anyone.
Log cabins are nicer than my house
The Spinney isn’t a home from home because it’s actually much nicer than that. The log cabins are absolutely gorgeous.
I stayed with my girlfriend and had a long list of things we wanted to do in Jedburgh during our stay but because the log cabin was so cosy we ended up spending a lot of our time inside relaxing.
The cabin was spotless on arrival and the owners even left us some chocolates, tea, coffee and milk as a welcome. They are very friendly and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. There’s DVDs, books, games, CDs, takeaway menus, taxi phone numbers and suggestions of things to do. If you fancy a meal out I’d recommend the Indian in the town, it was very nice.
Despite it being minus five outside in December, it was very warm inside and we even had to turn the bedroom radiator off.
The only slight negative I can find is that the wifi signal is weak so you can’t download large files, but who needs wifi when the log cabin is no nice.
